Textus et Pictura is a regular forum integrating researchers of medieval manuscript heritage from various disciplines. The 2026 edition, The Medieval Manuscript in Sacred Use, will address the role of books in various aspects of religious life in the Middle Ages (liturgy, preaching, private devotion, etc.) as a vehicle for dogmatic content, ritual content, norms regulating official practice, and content filling private practice. Individual blocks of papers (Biblia / Liturgica / Musica / Textus et homilia / Devotio) will be devoted to specific types of books.

Institute of Art History and Cultural Heritage
Art historian, associated with the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University since her studies. She conducts research on medieval art in the former Teutonic state in Prussia (especially sculpture and painting) in the context of its European connections, as well as on the function of art in liturgy, worship and piety in the post-Teutonic region. A separate subject of her research is the manuscript heritage, primarily codices from the territory of the Teutonic Order in Prussia.

A graduate of history at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, she obtained her doctoral degree on the basis of her dissertation entitled The Cathedral Chapter in Gniezno in the Light of Metric Records from 1408–1448 (published in 2003). Since 2008, she has been associated with the Manuscripts Section of the University Library in Toruń. Her research interests focus on the history of the Church and clergy in medieval Poland and codicology.

She is a certified art conservator and a graduate of Nicolaus Copernicus University. She is professionally associated with the Department of Paper and Leather Conservation and Restoration at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University. She specialises in conserving and restoring monuments on paper, parchment and leather, including paintings, drawings, prints and antique codices, as well as objects of artistic craftsmanship. Her research and conservation interests focus on paper as an artistic medium and works of art on paper with problematic medium layers that are sensitive to external factors, such as gouaches, watercolours, pastels, manuscripts, maps, miniatures, and illuminations.

PhD in art sciences, assistant professor at the Ludwik and Aleksander Birkenmajer Institute of the History of Science, Polish Academy of Sciences; art historian and codicologist. His research interests focus on medieval illuminated Latin manuscripts, especially in terms of penwork decoration. His publications to date are mainly related to manuscripts from the collections of the Diocesan Library in Pelplin and the local Cistercian scriptorium.

Director of the University Library in Toruń, is a graduate of Polish Studies and Information Science at Nicolaus Copernicus University. She completed her doctoral studies in bibliology and information science, and in 2024 she obtained a diploma in communication in an empathy-based organisation at the SWPS University in Warsaw. At Nicolaus Copernicus University, she held several positions, ranging from managerial to expert, and was responsible, among other things, for the reorganization and modernization of the Faculty of Humanities Library.

Librarian and bibliophile, a specialist in old books, editor, senior certified curator, and director of the University Library in Toruń from 2010-2024. He has nearly 30 years of teaching experience and is the author of numerous publications in the fields of library science, librarianship, book science, science studies, biographistics and bibliography.

Department of Interior Design and Sculpture
His research interests focus on the art of the Teutonic Order in Prussia, with particular emphasis on medieval architecture and its interior furnishing, as well as woodcarving and panel painting, primarily in the context of monument studies and conservation, as well as manuscript codices in the context of interdisciplinary research. An important place in his research (especially using non-invasive research methods such as NIR, UV and XRF) is devoted to the study of medieval art, with an emphasis on technique, materials, authenticity and integrity.

Medieval historian, project manager of Manuscripta.pl and collaborator on the Repertorium chronicarum project. A graduate of the Institute of History at the University of Warsaw, he obtained his doctorate and habilitation at the Institute of History of the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is interested in issues related to source studies, especially codicology, as well as the history of medieval historiography and the history of science.

A graduate of Cultural Heritage Protection at NCU and PhD student in art sciences (Academia Artium Humaniorum NCU), working also at the Diocesan Museum in Pelplin, a member of the Medieval Art Historians' Scientific Circle. She devoted her diploma theses to extensive research on medieval wooden sculptures from the former Teutonic Order in Prussia.

A graduate of Cultural Heritage Protection, she devoted her diploma thesis to the study of 13th/14th-century French books from the collection of the Diocesan Library in Pelplin. As a laureate of the third edition of the Mobility for International Cooperation: SMART 3 competition organized by the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, she conducted research at The British Library in London. She actively participates in scientific projects: ‘Saving the Gutenberg Bible in Pelplin - an interdisciplinary research, conservation and dissemination project’ and ‘Inventory of Art in Toruń’. She is a member of the Medieval Art Historians' Scientific Circle at Nicolaus Copernicus University, a volunteer at the District Museum in Toruń, and an employee at the Diocesan Museum in Pelplin.
